GEORGIA - 539kms 13JULY 2026
AKHALTSIKHE FIRST TOWN AFTER THE BORDER.
Was nice and cool in the morning to ride, actually got cold but a nice change from the European heat.
The exit from Turkey was uneventful and quick. Entering Georgia was hassle free, visa free and no issues with the bike paperwork, showed the Power of Attorney document and no questions.
The town was about 25 kms away and the minute I entered the cops pulled me over. Had to have a breathalyzer test and fined $38 for not having insurance. So went and got insurance ,which i was planning to do , but didn't get the time to, and it cost $13 for a month, $5 less than my unlimited data Sim card.
Took all afternoon to sort that out and got to the hotel at 5pm and showered and didn't move from the hotel. Not the welcome I was expecting.
